PAUL B. NIELANDER
PRINCIPAL

Paul is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford Ohio.

Immediately after college he joined the Safeco Insurance Companies as a Personal Lines Underwriter and then as Commercial Casualty Underwriting Trainee in Cincinnati Ohio. He spent 3 years with Safeco and progressed to a Senior Casualty Underwriter at Safeco before leaving to join Chubb.

He served as a Commercial Casualty Underwriter, Underwriting Manager, Regional Underwriting Manager and Branch Manager/Vice President in his 24 years at Chubb. These positions were in numerous Chubb offices in New Jersey, Chicago and Cincinnati.

Paul joined the Netherlands Insurance Companies in 1996 and restructured their Commercial Lines book in Indiana and returned it to profitability.

He joined Kemper in 1998 to head up the $300 Million+ KSA (Small Business Group) part of Kemper's Business Customer Group. In 2001 he became President of the Professional Customer Division of Phico Insurance, a medical malpractice company.

For both Kemper and Phico a major part of his responsibility was to develop breakthrough new products and artificially intelligent underwriting systems.

Before becoming a principal in Malecki Deimling Nielander and Associates, LLC, Paul operated his own insurance consulting business, Paul B. Nielander and Associates for 9 years where he worked with numerous clients as an expert witness and designer of coverage and systems.
