Crime Coverage
Date: April 7, 2008 Time: 1:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.

This course provides the attendees with an analysis of the ISO Crime Coverages. The basic crime insuring agreements discussed will be Employee Theft, Forgery or Alternation, Inside the Premises – Theft of Money and Securities, Inside the Premises - Robbery or Safe Burglary of Other Property, Outside the Premises, Computer Fraud, Fund Transfer Fraud, and Money Orders and Counterfeit Paper Currency. Particularly attention will be paid to the Crime Coverage Definitions. Workshop exercises will be utilized to give attendees experience in coverage interpretation.

Enhancing Investigation Skills
Date: April 13-16, 2008

Curious Mindset, Crucial Questions Utilizing mock liability and property claim files, the attendees will learn and apply 8 inquisitive thought elements to planning and structuring claims investigations from both the adjuster’s perspective and the perspectives of the insured/claimant. Thought process intellectual standards that enhance the quality and effectively focus the claims investigation process will be discussed. The attendees will understand the capabilities of questions to gain information, to indentify misunderstandings and to overcome objections in a claims investigation.

Policy Training that Really Rocks

A Workshop on Development and Delivery Correctly understanding policy language is essential to minimize a company’s bad faith exposures. Often, technical policy language training can be dull and boring. Proven training practices on making the learning experience interesting and fun will be shared. Techniques that enable the students to immediately use their knowledge on pending files will be demonstrated.

Litigation Management: Managing to the Aggregate
Date: September 16-17, 2008

Using a case study format the concentration will be on the litigation management process rather than individual claim files. The Beneficial Samaritan Insurance Co. (fictional) has a long history of large adverse verdicts. Both their underwriting and claims departments are not the most stellar. In this dynamic case study all that is about to change. Recently the vice president of claims, Donald Clyne, retired. Faith Goodman has been hired as the new claims vice-president. The attendees will help Faith redesign the litigation process.
